I was training a group of corporate executives in a discovery strategy for creative problem solving. A middle aged executive reluctant expressed what he believed to be his greatest challenge in his career. As we worked the discovery process, he was very surprised. He discovered his real challenge wasn’t anything close to what he originally thought. Once he was able to notice the actual nature of his issue, he quickly created solutions. He just had to first notice.
That's a nice anecdote. And I agree. You can't solve a problem if you're not certain what the problem is.
