So true, the world would definitely be a better place if moral courage was more common!

Your quotes are truly inspirational. Being a Boy Scout leader who is always looking for ways to inspire and instill the values of Boy Scouting, I find so many of these perfectly in alignment with the values we all need to instill in our your people as well as ourselves so thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The following is a snippet from page 190 of Simply An Inspired Life...
ReplyDelete“Be Prepared.”
“Be prepared for what?”
“Why, for any old thing.” said Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting.
[as quoted in the Boy Scout Handbook]
For Baden-Powell, the motto, “Be Prepared,” meant more than just being ready for emergencies, it meant being ready for all challenges to mind and body - meeting all of life’s struggles with courage - happily and without regret - having done your best.
Pretty smart, those scouts. The motto of the Boy Scouts, could profitably be a way of life for all of us.
Here's a quote by Will Rogers: "Live your life so that whenever you lose, you are still ahead." from Seesee
ReplyDeleteI do believe there are life struggles which are so overwhelming that to say they are "happily" met with courage would be unrealistic. Perhaps such challenges are met "willingly" or "fearlessly", but happiness does not factor in.
ReplyDeleteIt takes courage to forgive. Forgive everyone and everything for whatever reason. I believe this is the real reason any of us are here. Just let go and accept whatever circumstance you are in knowing this is here for the ultimate purpose of your growth. The act of forgiving can only increase our growth and courage.
