We tend to forget that happiness doesn't
come as a result of getting something we don't have,
but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.
- Frederick Koenig
Appreciate the Unexpected.
- Anonymous
Appreciate again and again, freshly and naively,
the basic goods of life, with awe,
pleasure, wonder and even ecstasy,
however stale these experiences may have become to others.
- Abraham Maslow

natural beauty, art, people.
Slow down, breathe deeply, smile.
It's a beautiful world.

I used to like this daily inspiration blog for the posts and their uplifting presentation in its simple format, since the posts have been placed in a big sharp black square box, that takes over the message, its a distraction and doesn't feel inviting to read, its become over the top formal rather than friendly.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check if the old ones are kept in the old format and see if i can draw inspiration from them again, the black box looks like a coffin and the image is in it, confined rather than OPEN and airy like the images used to be.
On one hand its your blog i understand, but it is intended to help people and encourage readers, some may come in freshly bereaved looking for upliftment, or this daily blog could be someone's life line like it was for me years ago.........
It would be good if the style was temporary only for the month of May, its not that i don't like change for the highest good, i would prefer a more neutral presentation if not just a lovely image on plain white.
It is so horrible how something you value everyday just goes to black.
Colour and shapes are powerful.
Anyway I value this blog, so i have spoken up.
Thank you very much for sharing your feelings about the "poster style" pictures.
ReplyDeleteI very much value everyone's feeling about the format of the lead pictures - and every other aspect of the format and content of this blog and email.
I welcome all thoughts about this either as comments here, or to my email at jlh {at} sail7.com
I am going to remove your duplicate comments from the other posts - not because your comments aren't important, but only because they are all exact copies of this one.
May the world be kind to you, and may your own thoughts be gentle upon yourself.
